Oodles of.... Poodles??
Oodles of.... Poodles??
This yarn comes with QUITE a story! It all started when a customer bought a few pounds of Targhee wool--then felted it in the wash (something we have all done at least once!!). She was sad and I asked her to send it to me to see what I could do.

She took the felted fiber to the UPS store to have it boxed and the people there made her prove it was not a dead 'poodle' before they would ship the wool--hee hee! SO, the 'poodles' got to me and I popped them into the dyepot, then let them dry again and I spun pieces of the felted locks/wool into a single ply of wool blend yarn (Homestead mystery roving).

The second ply is my favorite coppery plying thread and a 'fluffy' novelty yarn. Too too fun!! It came out with a sort of boucle look, and is a bulkier yarn. Very soft and would probably felt well too.

When I finished skeining up the yarn, I kept the odd lot yardage and decided to knit a swatch, which turned into a little purse! I used a vintage beaded earing for the button, AND found in my rummaging through my stash- you guessed it, a POODLE applique that was begging to get onto that purse!! The purse is 5x7 not including the hangle and is also available for purchase....

There are two types of yarn available, one set with the felted baubles and one set with out. Choose any or all--what a fun project!!

Felt bauble skeins available: 3 that include 100 yards/6 ounces each-Price $30 each

Matching two ply skeins available: 2 that include 100 yards/7 ounces each-Price $35 each

Oodles of Poodles purse- price $25

Ps- I did send back a skein of each yarn and some 'baubles' for our customer to try out too! Wheee!

10-5-08- Rainy day update is ready for browsing! The sheep will have a larger update this week, washed, dyed and unwashed wool and hoping for a box from the mills!!-- be sure you are on our mailing list ok? :0)
