Rita Merino, Louis & Sophie Beatrix!
Rita Merino, Louis & Sophie Beatrix!
Rita is a beautiful Merino ewe who came to us from a local flock after medical problems prevented her from having any more lambs. (Although I hear tell she is a famous movie actor in the sheep movie circles!!) She wears a coat all year long and provides a fleece with lock lengths of up to 5+ inches!  She has found out from the other sheep about the joys of Fruit Loops and is always anxious for a treat and a pat on her beautiful, soft, silky nose. 

Sophie came to us as a lamb with her brother Louis (pictured on left). They are descendents of our friend Kathi's herd of Rambouillets and they are a treasure in more ways than one. They are named after the children of King Louis Vl who founded the Rambouillet breed in France. Their fleeces are as fine as Merino wool with lock lengths of 4+ inches... Both are very sweet and good friends to the bottle babies. Sophie is very sweet and loves a nice hug and treats--her fleece is a very pretty nutmeg brown and so so soft!

Louis arrived with Sophie and the two are unseperable! They are just so sweet, floppy eared Louis we call him--kind of like Eyore! All he really cares about is Sophie, just so dedicated to his 'sister'. He loves a treat too, and a scratch on the chin so good for me too!!

10-11-08-Doowop diddy wop--the update is DONE!! The sheep have already left the premises to eat grass and sun--have fun browsing!! Are you on our mailing list yet? :0)
