Spirit, Morgan, Becan & Speedy!
Spirit, Morgan, Becan & Speedy!
Spirit  is a precious little Jacob/Corriedale cross sheep boy who lives up to his name every day! He is still a little shy of us but will come up to see if we have grain--little bit more time and he will be as happy as everyone else to find his treats in our pockets!- Spirit's best friend is Speedy---

Speedy is a precious little teeny Jacob/Corriedale cross sheep boy who has a gimpy front leg--it was broken but is healing nicely and we just love him! He is always interested in what we are up to outside, specially if there is food involved!

Morgan pals around with these two, is a little more shy but what a beauty! Meet Morgan, our special little Tunis lamb! She is this year's birthday present from my husband and son (aren't they great???). I have been looking and looking for a Tunis to add to our flock. They are considered a rare breed and because they are just re-gaining their popularity, they are difficult to find in our area. Tunis sheep are born red and fade as they age into a beautiful cinnamon colored fleece, while keeping the red face and legs. Tunis sheep were very popular prior to the Civil War--their wool was used for both north and south uniforms. Unfortunately not many of these pretty sheep survived the war....

Becan - This little Shetland baby came to us from our friend Naomi's flock. He has a ligament problem in his hind leg that we hope will heal quickly.... He is one week old and a very beautiful little sheep! He loves to be held and snuggled.......his name is Irish and in Gaelic it means 'a little one'- very fitting for this tiny, tiny guy! Update: Becan's leg has completely healed and he now has full use of it--if you look close it is still a little crooked but he usually is not standing still enough for anyone to notice! He really thinks he is a dog, he loves to sit in your lap (still!) and loves to take naps with me when I bring a blanket and a book to the pasture on a sunny day! Snuggly sheep are the bestest!
