Miss Libby!
Miss Libby!
Libby is a much loved puppy we adopted from a friend. She was born deaf and we are working with her to over come that. She is only 6 weeks old (Jan. 2004) and has already learned 6 signs! We are very proud of her and she is always busy herding the other dogs, playing or 'helping' me spin wool! Watch for more of her stories, there will be plenty from this little rascal! Update: Libby is 5 months old now and VERY busy! She loves to spend time outside, chasing laundry hung outside, leaves blowing by and she spends hours watching the sheep. She can hear very loud noises so we are planning to try teaching her with a dog whistle so we can get her attention when her back is turned. Right now a well-thrown ball does the trick but to call her back to us, the whistle may just do the trick. She is still wonderful!

2005 Update: Libby is also a very busy dog! She loves to play outside and she is often crafty enough to hide in the yard so she doesn't have to come inside to see me if she doesn't feel like it! She loves the two old dog houses that were here when we moved in--her little 'terrace condos'! She hides her toys and treasures in each of them when they are not lined up in the yard to play. She loves Andrew & Bobbi and spends lots of time stalking them from her side of the fence. She has learned new tricks and hates to have a bath!

Libby is still a nut but we are starting to see her settle down now that she is getting older. She is definitely her own dog and likes to spend time at her Libby 'TV' watching the pigs wander in their pasture next to the yard. She loves to visit with Andrew and Bobbi through the pasture fences and they are often out running laps together on their respective sides! She spends lots of time herding her milk jugs and toys from one side of the yard to the other and just running laps on her 'race track' in the yard. She loves to do tricks and her best friend is Buddy. They play a lot, some day though we are hoping to adopt another BC so she has someone that is at her activity level--our old guys tire out pretty quickly and Libby can play for hours--and never miss a toy!!
