Cotton blend pencil roving!
Cotton blend pencil roving!
This is a fun fiber that has been lurking in my stash- waiting to be spun. I have WAY too much of it so decided in the interest of reducing my embarassing stash, (oink snort) here I share!!!

I consider this an recycling of good fiber- that was an accidental find. The fiber is definitely Cotton, which I believe is blended with a small amount of acrylic? It arrived on HUGE cones, spins with out drafting (SO easy) into a nice even yarn. Soft too! If you are like me and hate to spin cotton too often, this one might change your mind! ;0)

There is a slight pink tint to the fiber- that is applied at the yarn mill to keep track of the weight of the roving at a glance before it hits the spinning machine.... It washes out easily after spinning and/or during dyeing- does not affect dye colors either.... Way too fun, the picture shows 1 ounce- it is a LOT! Plenty to go around so try some out or buy enough for a project!

7-29-10- UPDATE FINITO- finally! Hope you will have a good browse- be sure to look through all the fiber pages, new fibers pop up on ALL of them, not just the first! The big Baaazinga fiber party will begin on Sunday, Aug 1- giddyup!
