Our Rudy's Arbor!
 Our Rudy's Arbor!
You can bet that if Rudy could pull it off, he would indeed have a grape arbor! Seedless of course- but I think that he would be easily persuaded to make a little bootleg wine? Sigh.

Anyhoo, Rudy is a wonderful tri-colored Romney cross sheep who started his life here arriving as a bottle lamb. He and a gaggle of his buddies scampered around our house in pampers for almost four months- boy was I sad when they moved out to become 'sheep'. There is nothing like the sound of baby lambs hopping and scooting around on an old wooden floor, and hearing their little bodies crash onto soft, warm blankets for a big nap- only to get up 20 minutes later to do it all again! It is heaven.

Rudy has grown up into a beautiful sheep, his best friends are pretty much everyone, but he stays closest to the sheep he arrived with- Happy, Gilmore, Goliath and Frosty. A sweet sweet family. You can read more about them in our meet the sheep pages....

Rudy sent some of his naturally silver fiber to the mill for carding (thank you Shari!) and when we got it back home, I spun it up as a two ply. Rudy dyed it subtle shades of purple, I am sure with that grape arbor in mind.... ;0) The yarn is soft enough for most any project, unless you have the most sensitive skin- then I would not use it in a project close to your face. This yarn is easy to felt.... (the sheep recommend size 11 or larger knitting needle)

Our Rudy's Arbor, 2 ply handspun yarn- skeins available: 1 that includes 100 yards/3 ounces-Price $18
