Prairie Bride!
Prairie Bride!
I started out with some gorgeous, natural Ivory Cotswold wool and softly spun it into singles. Then I plyed it with multi-colored beads and vintage buttons that I hand strung onto a very fine millspun mohair yarn.

I was thinking of a young bride, her mom preparing a special gift with what they had to spare. Not much extra cash on the prairie in those days. A visit to Grandma's button box? Some beads from a special purse or garment long ago torn and tattered--but saved? Maybe Grandma spun the yarn and added in the pretty little vintage bits so they could make some trim on the bride's dress OR a shawl to wear with her dress. No matching beads or buttons, but loved none the less. Special items she could look back at and remember that day, her loving family--and of course the shawl would be a handy item to have in winter too! OK, that was my train of thought while spinning this yarn! I can always spin the 'bad juju' out of me when I spin yarn, but not the silly! :0)

Prairie Bride 2 ply: 2 skeins available that include 25 yards/2 ounces each-Price $16 each

PS- many of the buttons in this yarn ARE from my own Grandma's button box! (the sheep recommend size 11 or larger knitting needle)
