La Goaties!

We have several groups of goats here, all grouped to their personalities, ages and care needs. The main group is watched over by our Chaquita--a beautiful Llama we adopted from a friend when she needed a job--she was not 'playing well' with her llama friend so we had just the job to fill up her time! She takes her new charges VERY seriously--often making them go to bed much before they are ready--they like to play til the sun goes down but if Chaquita says go, amazingly, they go!
I think the funniest thing about them is they are smart too and find ways to outsmart her. We have two doors in the goat house, mainly because when Chaquita first arrived, she would not let the goats out if they were in, or lay in the door and keep them out! SO, we created a new 'back' door just big enough for the goats to slip in and out. (However, I have seen Chaquita going in and out that little door? Amazing!).
SO, when they do not want to go to bed as directed (Goats seem to be stuck at about human two year olds!), they do as they are 'told', and go in the front door, out the back, but then they have to go show her they snuck out--which ends up with quite the round of angry mama Llama chasing them round and round--she hates that back door! Undermines her good intentions! ha!
Chaquita has taken quite a shine to our little Odey goat, in fact, we think she thinks he is her baby! He hides under her tummy when he has been naughty to the other goats or playing too rough--she won't let anyone near him! They sleep curled up together and are just too wonderful and cute! As innocent as she looks in her picture, Chaquita decided she did not like the camera flash and just missed spitting on the camera--and the photographer ( yep, that would be me!)!
