Random thoughts about spinning & fiber art
Random thoughts about spinning & fiber art

There are lots and lots of spinners and fiber artists out there, and all are unique and wonderful in their own ways. We have a philosophy here that there is NO wrong way to spin OR dye OR work with fiber!! Just HAVE FUN! It is very difficult to 'mess up' and you just need to find your favorite equipment and get the groove!

We are always happy to answer questions and help if we can so always email if you have a concern as you learn... You can start out very easily with a drop spindle, it is a reasonable cash outlay to see if you really indeed like the spinning. Or you may know someone or have a shop nearby who would let you try out a wheel too. Remember, you do not have to have the most expensive wheel to be a good spinner! Really. There are lots of wheels available and for starters, we recommend trying a less expensive wheel first, you can always sell the wheel when you know more what your style will be and are ready to move up to your 'cadillac' of wheels. It is very hard to know when you just start out what that will end up being-- again, a very individual choice.

Again, will write more as these questions come in, but always remember, this is an art form and every artist has a different taste in texture, color and everything that goes along with it--just have fun and be happy with your craft! There is NO wrong way!!!!
