Mari is one of the sheep we adopted from a larger rescue effort in Pennsylvania some years back. She was the first lamb ever born on our farm! We don't breed our sheep so when her mom Holly arrived pregnant, what an adventure! I am quite sure by the time she had Mari Holly was downright sick of me.

Mari's name means 'long awaited gift'. She is definitely a gift- all grown up and beauteous now. She is a Merino cross sheep with silky soft wool that is easy to work with. Her locks are 4 inches long and does have minor debris/dust left to be removed. She got sassy when she washed/dyed her fiber and added a bit of Arthur's Shetland fleece in. I think she has a crush on him? Her best friend is still Holly. They keep each other company and love vanilla wafers. You can read more about them in our meet the sheep pages.

Mari wore a coat during hay season last winter so this fleece is very clean- it does have dust in the tips of the locks that washes out easily.
