Casey! (Sponsored)
Casey! (Sponsored)

Casey is a lamb we purchased some years ago from our good friends Margaret and Graham--she is a black/silver North Country Cheviot. The NCC is very different than the Cheviots here in the US, they are stocky with sturdy legs, a face that reminds me much of the Border Leicester family and a less flighty temperament. Her wool is a beautiful black with silver highlights that is fun to spin. Her name is Gaelic for 'brave and watchful' which very much describes her!

Casey's fleece is a soft to medium fleece that is threaded with silver now. This wool is great for blending with softer fiber (locks of 3-4 inches) for strong projects- socks are perfect! (ps- she is quite the wild child!)

2015- Shearing was fun as always, Casey's fleece has changed colors- more silvery but she has SPOTS? Just a few here and there but how fun is that? She's one of our 'teenagers' and has slowed down just a little the past few years but still on the go go go!

Her best friend is our other NC Cheviot Apollo. They make a cute couple- I really think she has a crush on him!

2016- Casey just turned 9 years old. You wouldn't know it though. She's still spunky, sly when we want to catch her and will barely come up to us for treats. Just close enough to grab the treat and run. Stinker. Her fleece has changed color as she's aged. Instead of black, now it is more dark dark gray than black. And she has spots? Pretty cool!
