Vegetable matter or debris in fleeces?
Vegetable matter or debris in fleeces?

Our wool and fiber are provided by our pampered flock of sheep- and all their friends and protectors! Fiber is also supplied to us by local flock owners--many do not have the time or local market for their herd's fiber so this helps support some lovely sheep--AND those of us who can never have enough fiber stashed away!!! (really, my stash is ridiculous!)

We offer a wide variety of wool including raw wool, washed and dyed wool and spinning batts and roving~all in natural and dyed colors and blends!

Our sheep work hard year round to keep their fleeces clean and wonderful!(well truthfully, that is OUR job--they could care less!!)

Our sheep are encouraged to live happy, carefree lives so please know that the fleece we offer are rarely from covered or coated sheep. You may occasionally find bits of 'evidence' of what they had for breakfast (mainly hay salad) or what their llama friend may have spit at them during a 'spat' (haha!). Most will have some natural fading on the tips of the wool from sun bathing--something the sheep adore all summer long! Some fleeces from our friends flock may have a little more debris as the ewes often lay quietly while their babies sleep on the mama's backs to have a nice warm nap--all in a sheepy day!

However, we work very hard to only send you the best portions of each fleece--no poop, no 'stinker' fleeces to be sure! I have been the victim of a few of those in my time and strive to prevent that happening to you. I also send extra fiber in case something escapes my fleece sorting so you always have usable fiber that is the least work possible--and I represent our fiber as honestly as possible with pictures and words.

Our goal is happy fiber artists so if you receive something that will not work for the use you intended, we have a very easy exchange policy! See our order info page for more on that...

After shearing our wool is hand washed, leaving the wool sparkling clean. Some of the wool is then hand dyed here in our kitchen and laid out to dry outside in the fresh breezes. We also offer beautiful naturally colored fiber from a variety of sheep!
