This is a very unique fleece, from some sort of rare sheep here in the USA! We purchase this wool from our friends Graham and Margaret's happy sheep- they spend their days happily galloping acres of pasture in central WI.

Scottish Black Face is much more versatile than just being used for rugs and tweeds.... I use it for felting, spinning for a strong yarn (weaving weft) or a pinch blended into another fiber/batt to add strength and durability- such as sock heels. This wool reminds me of Linen/Flax fiber- and several of my customers have made the same comparison. The wool felts easily, takes dye like a champ and is a great addition to anyone's stash!

This is fantastic wool for primitive doll hair and santas! An ounce is a LOT of locks - this is a lightweight wool that is too fun to work with! Hope you will try some out!

The locks in this fleece average 8+ inches, minor debris remains and it is a coarse wool that does include guard hair...
