Emma's Crazy Quilt Scarf!

10.00 15.00

My great grandmother Emma Lamp was just that--great! She was a very patient woman with some young girls that had lots of tricks up their sleeves and she played along, letting us think she didn't know where we hid, etc. She was also a very talented crazy quilt and rug braiding artist. Her choice of colors was almost always random and striking--just absolutely stunning! She has inspired me in my spinning to take the time to just throw out the rules and have some fun so that is what you will find in my Crazy Quilt yarn and knit wear!

I always keep a handful of wool from each of my sheep's fleeces. In a basket to ponder a yarn or project it wants to be.

Well, the basket of fleece 'spoke' to me one day and I spun up a Crazy Quilt yarn that has wool locks, vintage fabric and much more spun in. Love to cut loose and just spin a fun yarn once in a while!

I knit up the scarf and added a pretty, vintage lapel (?) pin to hold the scarf closed so you could wear it as a cowl. Either way, what fun to wear and show off your CQ style right?

I think if this were felted, it would be a perfect project- don't be shy!! Smooches from the sheep!

Piece measures approximately 40 inches long x 6 inches wide
